Kalon Kelley Makes CPA comments in Support of the Gaviota Coastal Plan

October 16, 2018

Citizens Planning Association has been following the Gaviota Coast Plan process for many years.  We recommend that the Board accept all the Coastal Commission’s modifications to allow the Gaviota Coast Plan to take effect in the Coastal Zone as soon as possible.

The Coastal Commission worked diligently with the County to address concerns over the 13 suggested modifications and we agree with the Gaviota Coast Conservancy that the remaining concerns are relatively minor.  CPA feels the Plan in its current iteration offers major benefits to the environment, including agriculture, and enhances opportunities for public access and recreation.
